Centre for Computational Drug Discovery A generous grant from the National Foundation for Cancer Research has led to the setting up of this Centre within the group. We act as the leaders and the hub of a multinational group involving colleagues in London, Italy, Portugal and Spain which aims to develop methods and design compounds which will serve as therapeutic agents against cancer. In 2000 the NFCR funded a virtual centre, the Centre for Computational Drug Discovery, directed from Oxford University's Department of Chemistry by Professor Graham Richards. Figure. A view of the Linux cluster in Professor Richards' and Dr. Guy Grant's research group. The Linux cluster was in part funded by the NFCR and shall be used to look at the results from the cancer screening project. There are currently 45 nodes in the cluster running PBS queuing software to control the computational calculations. |
