Nail Polish Remover with conditioner

Ingredients: Acetone, water, Dimethicone Copolyol, DMDH Hydantoin, Methylparaben, Denatonium benzoate, CI 17200 and CI 42090

Acetone: is general purpose solvent, which dissolves most organic substances. Therefore the nail varnish doesn’t stand a chance!!!!! Molecular weight is 58.08 gmol-1

Water : general use is as a solvent and for dilution. Molecular weight is 18.015gmol-1 with formula H2O

Dimethicone Copolyol (also known as Dow Corning 2501 wax) is a water dispersible, hydrolytically stable copolymer. It is completely soluble in most aqueous surfactant systems. It provides the properties of emolliency. The functions of this ingredient are to provide moisturisation to the skin through its humectancy properties and to detackify common sticky components and improve the aesthetic skin feel of formulations containing tacky ingredients.

DMDH Hydantoin has the molecular formula C7H12N2O4 but it is not adequately represented by a single molecular structure. An alternative name is dimethyl-5,5-dimethylhydrantoin.

Methylparaben (or 4-hydroxybenzoic acid methyl ester). It functions as a preservative.

Molecular weight:152.05 gmol-1 with molecular formula C8H8O3.

Structure:

Denatonium benzoate: This is the most bitter substance ever known. The actual name is N-[2-[(2,6-dimethylphenyl)amino]-2-oxoethyl]-N,N-diethylbenzenemethaminum benzoate. Only tiny amounts are required to make the product’s taste unpleasant. It is an aversive agent to prevent accidental or deliberate ingestion of the product.

Molecular weight is 446.26 gmol-1 with formula C28H34N2O3

CI17200 is a colouring agent (known as fast acid magenta). Molecular formula is C16H11N3Na2O7S2 with molecular weight of 443 gmol-1.

CI42090 is a colouring agent (known as FD & C Blue). The molecular formula is C37H34N2Na2O9S3 with molecular weight 792.87 gmol-1.
