All parts of the University have agreed to work within a common framework to promote a consistent approach to providing support to students with disabilities. The Department of Chemistry welcomes students and staff with disabilities and is committed to providing an accessible environment and to making adjustments for all those with special needs. Ms Nina Jupp is the Department’s disability coordinator for students, and HR Manager Carol Blaber provides support and resources for staff.
Our newest building, the Chemistry Teaching Laboratory, is fully accessible, with height-adjustable benches and fume hoods for wheelchair users. All our lecture theatres are equipped with hearing loops and lecture capture technology.
