These course notes are provided on the internet and are designed to be read using Worldwide Web browsers. A short guide to the web introduces how to use browsers.
Here you will find information and instructions on how to program at the University of Oxford using the university's mainframe computer linux.ox.ac.uk.
All members of the University have an account on linux.ox.ac.uk system
The FORTRAN programs will be written in file space on the university mainframe computer. Connection to this is via a ssh connection . The operating system on linux.ox.ac.uk is UNIX. The next page contains instructions to start the ssh connection and some simple UNIX commands to get you programming.
