Nucleophilic Addition is one of the most common and important reactions in organometallic chemistry.
Allyl and enyl ligands as well as
unsaturated hydrocarbons like ethene and butadiene or benzene which do not normally
undergo nucleophilic addition reactions, are readily attacked by nucleophiles
like H-, CN- or MeO-.
