Real Time Observation of the Transformation of an Intermediate Phase to give a Final Product Phase

These spectra show later stages of the reaction in which the collapse of the initially formed phase is observed, followed by formation of the final product phase. Direct observation of such processes, which is impossible using conventional techniques, gives valuable insight into the mechanisms of these reactions.
