The popularity of the "Web"
in recent years is due to the graphical worldwide web browsers such as Netscape and Microsoft's
Internet Explorer. They both have similar features and we'll concentrate
here on Netscape. This graphical browsers give ability to mix text and graphics
gives rise to the multimedia nature of the Web; this and the use of hypertext
links gives hypermedia.
Navigation through a document in a graphical browser makes use of the mouse and scroll bars. Hypertext links are usually shown in a different colour from the rest of the test. They often show the current URL, and have a button bar for access to commonly used features.
