Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network Early-Stage Researcher Fellowship (2 posts)  (Professor Ben Davis)
From: £30,215.66 p.a.

Two fellowship positions are available for a period of 36 months, 50% which is tenable at Oxford University and 50% overseas on secondment on a project entitled ‘Late Stage Fluorination and Synthesis of Fragments and Molecules for Drug Discovery’. The successful candidates will be employed by the University on a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (FLUDD) and will enrol on a PhD training programme as a mandatory requirement of this post.

Candidates must hold a first class BSc/MSc degree (or equivalent) in chemistry or a related area prior to taking up the appointment.

You will be expected to conduct complex experiments and scientific analysis and also contribute to the development of new techniques and reporting of results. Good verbal and written communications skills in English are required.

The EC funding for this position provides for a remuneration starting from £30,215.66 p.a. Actual salary will depend on employer deductions, personal circumstances and the exchange rate applicable to the fellowship. This amount includes an annual living allowance and a mobility allowance (to cover the expenses associated with working in a different country).

Under the terms of the EC funding, which aims to promote mobility within the research community, to be eligible for the post you must not have been resident in the UK for more than a total of 12 months in the past 3 years. Persons who have obtained a doctorate or had more than 4 years full time research experience are ineligible. The start date is subject to discussion; the latest possible date is 1 October 2017.

The posts will be based 50% in the Chemistry Research Laboratory, Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA and 50% overseas on secondment.
