Postdoctoral Research Associate: Rotaxane, Catenane & Polyyne Chemistry  (Professor Harry Anderson)
Grade 7.1 7.3: 31,076 - 32,958 p.a

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work under the supervision of Professor Harry L Anderson on a research project funded by the Leverhulme Trust for a period of 36 months.

The project involves multistep organic synthesis, macrocycles, coordination chemistry, rotaxanes, catenanes and polyynes. Find out more about the research group at: http://hla.chem.ox.ac.uk/.

You should have a PhD in chemistry, or have submitted your thesis prior to taking up your appointment. Expertise in the organic synthesis is essential.

Duties will include managing own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small-scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of research and undertaking comprehensive and systematic literature reviews and writing up the results for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

The post will be based in the Chemistry Research Laboratory, Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA.

The post is available from 1 June 2017. There is some flexibility about the start date but preference will be given to candidates who can start before 1 October 2017. If possible, the successful candidate will be in post by this date, so that they can help to guide the PhD student on this project, who will start on 1 October 2017.
