Applications are invited for a Laboratory Technician vacancy, under the supervision of Professor Kylie Vincent and Dr Holly Reeve. The post is for a period of 2 years and is funded by the EPSRC.
The post will mainly involve assisting optimisation of suitable bacterial expression systems (most likely in E. coli) for scalable production of the metalloenzymes required for a novel H2-driven NADH cofactor recycling technology, HydRegen. The post will also involve supporting the wider research effort into applications and scale up of the H2-driven system.
You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Laboratory, including ensuring equipment is functioning, and monitoring and ordering stock as necessary.
You will be educated to at least A-level or equivalent qualification in Science with laboratory experience, and have a good knowledge of chemical and biological health and safety regulations. You will have good IT skills, good communication skills and ability to take initiative as appropriate. You will be able to plan and prioritise your own workload and have a high level of attention to detail.
The post will be based in the Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3QR.
