Part-time Events Co-ordinator (Maternity Cover)  (Mrs Joy Cooke)
Grade 4: £21,220 - £24,565 p.a. (pro-rata)

The Department of Chemistry is looking for an Events Co-cordinator, reporting to the Facilities Office Manager. You will be responsible for coordinating the facilities function from initial enquiries, organizing of room design, catering and providing support during events. You will also provide day to day supervision for the departmentís reception team.

You will be responsible for general administration, managing and updating databases, managing the room booking and annual leave systems. Booking temporary employees to cover reception during annual leave and sickness absences and assisting the Facilities Office Manager with administration and enquiries as required.

You will have good IT Skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and also have previous experience of working with databases. You will have an organized approach to work and the ability to work flexibly and independently with the ability to prioritise your work load.

Good written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role, as well the ability to deal with both internal and external customers. This role will require you to meet manual handling requirements to move furniture and set up rooms as required.

This is a Part time fixed-term post for up to 12 months, to cover for maternity leave.

The hours of work will be: Tuesday and Wednesday 7.45am - 5.00pm with a 30 minute lunchbreak. There will be occasional evening and weekend working required which will be paid accordingly.
