Postdoctoral Research Associate in Bioelectrochemistry  (Professor Fraser Armstrong )
Grade 7: £31,076 - £32,958 p.a.

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Bioelectrochemistry to work under the supervision of Professor Fraser Armstrong on a research project funded by BBSRC for a period of 18 months. The aim of the project is to develop the electrochemical background and small-scale reactor design principles to underpin an invention called the ‘electrochemical leaf’, which allows for rapid recycling of nicotinamide cofactors to drive enzyme-catalysed organic synthesis.

You should have a PhD in Chemistry (particularly bioelectrochemistry) or a related area, or have submitted a PhD thesis prior to taking up your appointment. The research requires a strong background in the catalytic electrochemistry of enzymes and in the fabrication and development of porous and modifiable electrode materials suited for enzyme attachment. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities, and to coordinate work to meet specified deadlines.

The post will be based in the Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory, South Parks Road, Oxford OX1 3QR.
