Postdoctoral Research Associate in Synthesis of Photo-Switchable Dyes for Super-Resolution Microscopy  (Professor Harry Anderson)
Grade 7: Salary in the range 31,076 32,958 p.a.

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work under the supervision of Professor Harry L Anderson on a project funded for a period of 22 months by the Wellcome Trust.

The project involves multistep organic synthesis, photochemistry and microscopy, and it is a collaboration with Professor Ilan Davis (Department of Biochemistry) and Professor Christian Eggeling (Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine).

Duties will include managing own academic research and administrative activities; this involves small-scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of research and undertaking comprehensive and systematic literature reviews and writing up the results for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

You should have a PhD in Chemistry, or have submitted your thesis prior to taking up your appointment. Expertise in the organic synthesis is essential.

The post is available from 1 November 2017 and the start date is flexible and will be based in the Chemistry Research Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA.
