Postdoctoral Research Associate in Organometallic Chemistry (Professor Charlotte Williams)
Grade 7: £31,604 - £38,833 p.a
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Organometallic Chemistry to work under the supervision of Professor Charlotte Williams on a research project for a period of up to 24 months. This is part of a large-scale project applying organometallic clusters and inorganic nanomaterials as photo-redox catalysts to deliver new dense energy carriers. The project is funded by Shell.

You should hold a PhD in Chemistry or have submitted a thesis prior to taking up your appointment. The research requires a strong background in organometallic chemistry, particularly relevant to the preparation and characterization of organo-zinc(II), copper(I/II) and nickel (II) complexes. Have the ability to work with reagents and materials using anaerobic techniques. Have experience of inorganic nanomaterial preparation and characterization is desirable but not essential.
The overall project is part of an on-going collaboration with groups at Imperial College London and with Shell, as such strong communication, team-work and organization skills are essential. You are expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities, and to coordinate work to meet specified deadlines.
The post will be based in the Chemistry Research Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, 12 Mansfield Road, Oxford OX1 3QT and is available as soon as possible.
