Applying for Postgraduate Research
Applicants for postgraduate research leading to
a D.Phil. in theoretical chemistry are welcome
from candidates who have or expect to obtain a
1st class degree in chemistry, physics, material
science or an appropriately related discipline.
The research interests of the group members are

We also offer a one year Masters course (M.Sc.) in
Theoretical Chemistry, which provides a broad introduction
to the whole field of theoretical chemistry. Consisting
of both taught lecture courses and a research project
element, the M.Sc. is suitable for those who intend
to pursue research in the area, whether at Oxford
or elsewhere. It will also provide a firm foundation
for those wishing to enter industry with a thorough
grounding in modern theoretical techniques. Further
