Chemistry QuickTime TV

We have launched streaming QuickTime TV channels for chemistry education.

Movie - from "a scanning tunnelling study of immoblised Cytochrome P450" - presented at the Royal Society public expo July 2000 - includes a virtual flight around a STM landscape followed by a flight inside the P450 protein itself.

Movie - from the December 1999 Molecule of the Month - a virtual flight through a crystal of pyrite

New Movie - from "a scanning tunnelling study of Zn7 Metallothionein II " - includes a virtual flight around a STM landscape followed by overlaying the protein on to the surface.

The initial offering is a collection of six 12 minute video by CALTech on the following subjects: Atomic Orbitals, The Structure of Crystals, VSEPR Theory, Stereochemistry, Nucleophilic Substitution, & The Diels- Alder Reaction.

The broadcast of the CALTech videos for copyright reasons is intended only to be available on the University of Oxford campus.

You do need Apple QuickTime 4 to view these online streaming channels.
The software is available for Windows 95/98/NT4 and MacOS.
