Senior Development Manager

Responsibilities

As Senior Development Manager I lead on development activities in the Department of Chemistry, formulating strategy and raising funds for priority areas. These include scholarships, academic posts, specific areas of research, capital planning projects, and outreach. Within the Department, I work closely with the Head of Department, Head of Administration, senior academics and Alumni Relations and Communications Manager to identify needs and develop plans. Externally, I work with a wide range of alumni and other individuals with an interest in cutting-edge science, corporate and industrial partners, and trusts and foundations.

I currently am on maternity leave and plan to return to work in December 2021. In the meantime:

If you have a question about Oxford Chemistry's alumni community or any other Department matters, please contact Susan Davis, Chemistry's Alumni Relations and Communications Manager: susan.davis@chem.ox.ac.uk

If you have a question about philanthropic support for Oxford Chemistry, please contact Hannah Curwell-Parry, Head of Development for the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division: hannah.curwell-parry@devoff.ox.ac.uk

Biography

Prior to joining the Department of Chemistry in October 2017, I worked in University College London's Development and Alumni Relations Office as a Philanthropy Officer. There I focused on development activities in areas of health-related research including oncology, neurodegenerative diseases, maternal and neonatal health, and infectious diseases. I completed a Master of Arts (Hons) in Modern History and History of Art at the University of St Andrews, which was followed by an early career in communications in the arts and education sectors.
