Andy Sode Anker, a researcher in the Department of Chemistry, has been recognized as one of the world’s 30 most promising young scientists at the Inflection Award, the world’s first-ever award dedicated to celebrating early-career scientists working on solutions to climate change.

The awardees were selected through a rigorous assessment process by a panel of 17 judges, representing leading institutions and organizations tackling the climate crisis. All 30 awardees were brought to Paris for an exclusive two-day event, where they had a firsthand learning experience with some of the most influential figures in climate science, investment, and policy.

Speaking about this recognition, Andy said that he was:

Honoured to have been selected for the Inflection Award and to spend two days in Paris with some of the brightest minds in climate. From deep discussions on the future of climate technologies to late-night debates over some wine, this was a highlight of my academic journey.

Applications for the 2026 cohort will be announced soon, opening an opportunity for promising researchers from all corners of the globe to be recognized for their impactful research. For more information about the Inflection Award and its mission, visit https://inflectionaward.com/
