National Scientific Thinking Challenge

The National Scientific Thinking Challenge for Year 10 students in the UK, tests students to look at data, graphs and text and make deductions, spot trends, suggest hypotheses and identify anomalous results. Students are given one week to complete the challenge during one science lesson. (The challenge takes 50 minutes to complete). Once completed, the marks are ranked from all the schools in one population, and they create a distribution curve for the marks and work out the mark thresholds for the top 10%, 25% and 40% of students who had a go.

The two slots on offer are: 05/05/25 - 09/05/25 and 12/05/25 - 16/05/25. Bookings will close at 5pm on Tuesday 29th April 2025. To find out more and how to sign up, visit their website here.
