OxWiChem 2026 will take place online on Thursday 29 October, and in person in Oxford on Friday 30 October 2026. The event celebrates the contributions and research of women in chemistry and brings together researchers and professionals from academia and industry.
Online Symposium — Thursday 29 October 2026 (13:00–16:00)

This year’s online symposium will feature two distinguished leaders in chemistry and chemical biology:
- Dr Rebecca Ruck: Associate Vice President at MSD and Founder of EWOC – Carpe diem: An unexpected journey toward biocatalysis and women in chemistry.
- Prof Laura Kiessling: Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Chemical Biology (Talk title to be announced).
The symposium will be held online. Colleagues based in Oxford are also welcome to attend in person in the Wolfson Seminar Room, Chemistry Research Laboratory, where refreshments will be provided. All genders are welcome to participate.
OxWiChem 2026 — Friday 30 October 2026 (13:00–18:30)
This year's OxWiChem event features an outstanding programme of speakers:
- Prof Ruth Webster: Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge
- Dr Alexandra Groves: Nature Synthesis
- Prof Ludmilla Steier: Department of Chemistry, University of Oxford
- Prof Ji-Seon Kim: Department of Chemistry, University of Oxford
The main programme will take place in the ICL Lecture Hall from 13:00–16:30, followed by a poster session from 16:30–18:20, and the Awards Ceremony and Concluding Statements from 18:20–18:30.

Call for Abstracts:
Abstract submissions are now open to individuals who identify as women or non-binary. Applicants are invited to submit an abstract for either a poster presentation or a short oral presentation on Friday, 30 October 2026. Short oral presentations will be 10 minutes in total, including questions.
