Graduate open days

Welcome to our 2026 Open Days for postgraduate study!

Our Open Days will take place between 19-22 October this year with some events taking place online and others taking place in person in the Chemistry Department here in Oxford. The general programme of events is: 

Online Graduate Open Day

The Online Graduate Open Day will take place on Monday 19th October.

The day will involve a series of talks and Q&A sessions that are live streamed (times below). Recordings of the talks will be made available afterwards. 

Many of our supervisors and their research groups will also be available for drop-in Teams meetings for you to talk to them about their current research. Before you speak to them, you may like to look at their research group posters and other information, as well as their webpages available on our main Chemistry website.

You can also drop-in to Q&A sessions with our Graduate Admissions Team.

In Person Graduate Open Day Events

Each in person graduate open day will be based at the Department of Chemistry. Specific joining instructions and a more detailed schedule will be sent to you before the day.

There will be a chance for you to find out more about our research programmes including the Chemical Synthesis for a Healthy Planet (CSHP) EPSRC CDT and Generative Biology EIT DTP (on Tuesday 20th October only), Inorganic Materials for Advanced Manufacturing (IMAT) EPSRC CDT (on Wednesday 21st October only), and taught MSc in Theoretical & Computational Chemistry (TCC) (on Thursday 22nd October only).

There will be plenty of opportunities to meet current graduate students, hear about some of the cutting-edge science taking place here at Oxford, speak to potential supervisors, and have a tour of our laboratories. 

Whilst most supervisors will be available to speak to at our open days we cannot guarantee that absolutely everyone will be available to speak to on the day. You are also very welcome to reach out to potential supervisors and arrange an individual visit to Oxford at another time.
