Course structure

The MChem is a four-year degree. The first three years (Part I) consist of teaching through lectures, practicals, tutorials and classes. In the fourth year (Part II), students work full-time on a research project in the department.

More detailed information about the course structure, including a typical week, content and assessment, and progression, is available here: Chemistry | Oxford University

We are currently reviewing the structure and content of the MChem course, therefore there may be some changes in future years. Any significant changes that are introduced will be described on this page: Chemistry | Oxford University, before the relevant application deadline.
