Congratulations to Professor Richard Compton, who has been awarded the Frumkin Medal by the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE).

This award, usually given once every two years by the ISE, recognises outstanding contributions by a living individual over his/her life to the field of fundamental electrochemistry.  It was established in honour of Professor Alexander N Frumkin (1895-1976), the Soviet electrochemist credited with the fundamental theory of electrode reactions.

The Frumkin Medal 2025 is presented in recognition of Professor Compton's outstanding contributions to fundamental electrochemistry including electroanalysis, photo-, sono- and spectro-electrochemistry, electrochemistry of room-temperature ionic liquids; single-entity electrochemistry; and the simulation and modeling of electron transfer and mass transport at electrified interfaces.
