A new textbook by Profs Tim Claridge and James McCullagh has been published by Oxford University Press. The authors are long time colleagues; Tim was formerly Professor and Director of the NMR Facility in the Department for over twenty years and is now a Visiting Professor, and James is Professor of Biological Chemistry and Director of the Mass Spectrometry Research Facility.
The book, A Practical Guide to Structure Determination in Organic Chemistry, offers a concise introduction to the key analytical techniques used to determine the molecular structure of organic compounds. It sets out a systematic approach to using and integrating spectroscopic data in a way that helps to develop skills in interpreting MS, NMR, and IR spectra in order to solve structure determination problems.
More details about the new book can be found on the Oxford University Press website.
