The optimal nuclear characteristics of technetium make it an ideal radionuclide for diagnostic medical imaging. However, the development of new imaging agents requires the prior development of technetium coordination chemistry to generate appropriate new complexes and their precursors. Here we report the synthesis of some new technetium complexes containing metal-nitrogen bonds and their coordination chemistry. © 1989.
